Forgiving Trespasses

Sitting and watching this Spanish series...Queen of Flow. This woman was imprisoned for 17 years for a crime she didn’t commit when the DEA made her a deal to help catch those that put her in prison with lies. She lost everything. 17 years later she found the son she gave birth to behind bars. The child she thought died in a fire when he was actually stolen and her grandmother killed in that fire. I sat and thought as a mother how awful it would be to be disconnected from your child for such a long period of time. Then I thought how awful it must feel for God to be disconnected from us daily. When we need help but turn to others or when we cry but not out to Him. How about those times when we are waiting for a miraculous change yet we don’t ask Him to prepare us for the change, we just want it. In the earthly realm we would call kids like that ungrateful. But, I’m so glad that we still have grace and mercy. Grace gives us time to get it right. Mercy is when His love for us allows Him to forgive us our trespasses. However, don’t continually mess up and rely on grace and mercy. That’s not the point of these two. They aren’t there for us to use and abuse. Grace and mercy are for when we mess up but want to get back in alignment with God's Word. His plan for us.

Matthew 6:12 "And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors."

Debts is interchangeable with trespasses. Do you know these words or do you just say them? Forgive. Forgive. Forgive. We must forgive those wrongs done unto us as He forgives the wrong we’ve done unto Him. Please don’t harbor hate, unforgiveness, anger, hurt, etc in your heart. Let it go. Cry out to God and cast your cares on Him for He truly cares for you. He wants us to be whole and not broken. He wants us to be victorious and not defeated. But carrying around this negativity will not ease your burden. It will only weigh down the load. Lighten yourself as you enlighten your soul with the Word. Be A Blessing and Not Just Blessed
